More from way out west
Me again! Brandon and I (ok, mostly Brandon) managed to get the painting done over the weekend, which means 1) we've officially re-painted every room in our house since moving in, 2) we can finally put up baby gates on the stairs - and just in time since Gavin is now climbing them, and 3) an LCD TV is in our near future. We have no business buying a TV when we've got all this other stuff to spend our dough on, but thanks to Best Buy's good-ol'-American 3-year, 0% interest deal it won't be so painful. And speaking of that other stuff, we're flying our plumber friend Pete Smith up here on Friday to help us replace the tub and associated plumbing. Pete seems to think we'll be able to accomplish not just the tub replacement but replumbing the whole house with new "PEX" pipe in that amount of time. I'll be glad just to be able to take a shower again (we've been showering at the neighbors'). Anything beyond that is gravy.

Wow! A lot going on at your house, and only 3 weeks until the raft trip! Hurray for Pete and his willingness to jump right in. I can't imagine the mess you will incur by removing the old bath tub. You can't break it into pieces, can you? Will you put it in the Chard yard and plant a flower bed?
DJ, M, C and S are camping at Starved Rock as I write this. They left on Sunday, and wouldn't you know, the nights turned cool. Dipped into the 40's here and there last night. I'm anxious to hear of their adventures. Also anxious to hear about my soon-to-be newest grandchild. Talk to this baby, M and D, and let them know that it's much more fun on the outside!
Going to pick beans and head for Gram's.
$old! We finally unloaded the Pathfinder tonight for 160% of what the dealer wanted to give us on it as a trade-in. Whew.
