Arrival

We're home! What a loooong trip. As Mom said, we boarded the plane (35 minutes late) and left the gate, and drove around on the tarmac for about an hour before returning to the gate due to thunderstorms. We sat at the gate while and then they kicked us all off the plane for about 45 minutes, which was great because we were getting hungry and because the toilets on the plane weren't flushing properly. We got back on the plane only to find out we couldn't leave yet because the storms were still hanging around. We finally got into the air a little after 10 pm - SIX HOURS later than our original departure time. Gavin was incredibly good. I don't think he cried or even squealed for more than 30 seconds total. He was awake for the entire 6-hour delay but slept for most of the flight. Wide awake again at the SLC airport but went to sleep in the car. We got home to Hyrum at 2 am. I think he was as happy to see his crib as we were to see our bed!

THANK YOU so much to all of you for making the effort to get together with us while we were there. We had a really great visit and are looking forward to the next one - perhaps sometime in January after Mom and Pop get back from New Zealand and after little Peanut is on the outside.

We weren't able to get Mom and Pop's computer to see our camera when we were there, but we'll burn a CD with the pictures and send it to them. I think DJ's family can see the pictures on their computer via the magic of networking. Perhaps we'll send an additional copy of the CD to Dave and Missy along with whatever other baby books and goodies we scrape together in the next few days.

The weather here is lovely - 45 and sunny as of 9:30 am.

Lots of love to my family,
Julie
