Samantha Wood Worm Rescuer

We have been getting a lot of rain around here. Lots of rain means lots of displaced worms. Dear compassionate Samantha has taken it upon herself to help the worms that are trapped on sidewalks, driveways and roads back to the grass. Her efforts are a little humanitarian and a lot self serving. The worms offer a great excuse to run around in the rain and splash through puddles.

First Communion

This has been a very exciting year for Christopher. In January, he made his First Confession, which he said was fun. Not the word I would use to describe going to confession. Then yesterday, he made his First Communion. He had been waiting for that day for almost two years. We started preparing him, last year during our homeschool religion classes. He was very excited. When we arrived at church, he raced out of the car and straight to the bathroom so he could fix his suit. 44 children made their First Communions, but he by far the holiest and most handsome.

We are very grateful to nana, papa, grandma, and grandpa for going that extra mile and bringing great gram and great grandma to the mass and party after. He is very lucky to have a wonderful Uncle Dave who came out with dear cousin Evelyn. Chirstopher enjoyed playing with her.

We are very proud of the sweet young man Christopher is growing into.

Thanks for the bench, Papa!

Gavin and I had a nice treat yesterday - a few of my girlfriends came out to Hyrum with their little ones and we all enjoyed a gorgeous morning outside in the yard. This pic is of Juniper and Gavin on the porch. Juni is 4 months older than Gavin and I joked that the pictures I took of them would be great for the slide show at their wedding. I wish I had better camera savvy so their faces wouldn't be in the shadows. Next time I'll use the flash.

Today I was a finalist in the Chicagoland Pins Over Average Bowling Tournament. The tournament started a couple of months ago with 11,000 entrants. Last month I made it into the finals securing the final spot from my regional. So here I was with 32 other finalist bowling for the top prize of $10,000. Well I'm here to tell you that I didn't win that but I did win 8th Place which got me an iPod touch. Being electronically challenged as I am I haven't a clue how it works. So now who's going to teach me?

LollapaWHAT?

So it turns out there's a big 3-day concert happening in Chicago this summer and it turns out there are going to be some bands playing at this concert that Brandon and I really like and it turns out that we just bought tickets to this concert so it looks like we will be in Chicagoland in early August! The concert dates are August 7-9, so we'll probably fly in a day or two before that and leave a day or two afterward. Gavin REALLY wants to come with us (rockstar that he is - just look at that hairdo!) but we were hoping we might be able to convince one of his aunts, uncles, or grandparents to keep him occupied while Brandon and I are out destroying our eardrums. Don't say we didn't warn you....

I'm 7 months old!!!

Here I am, seven months old. I still love to smile and jump. I'm also pretty good at eating. I'm sure putting my two chompers to work. They especially help me eat gerber puffs. They're like little cheerios, but they melt in your mouth. The newest veggie I've tried and really like is green beans. Today I tried pears, and I didn't even make a funny face!

I've been to the park a couple of times. I enjoy relaxing in the swing. The slides are fun too.

I'm getting pretty good at sitting up all by myself. I can even lean forward and sit back up, recovering nicely. (as seen in photo #1 :) ) I have yet, and appear to be far from mastering the rolling over thing. I think it's over rated anyway.

lunch

Hey there family! I've had a dickens of a time signing on to this blog, but Pop got me signed on at last. I just wanted to ask you to come for lunch tomorrow after the Easter doings at the Devonshire. Nothing fancy, but a chance to visit after the somewhat chaotic events of the morning. Gram has been doing poorly for the past few weeks, but I think she's "over the hump" for now. She actually went to the hospital by ambulance on Tuesday, but wasn't admitted, thank goodness. For now, I need to get ready for work, so I'll see you all tomorrow. I'm anxiously awaiting Evelyn's 7 month posting!
