Sometimes it pays to wash the dishes. Like this afternoon, when I looked up and saw a squirrel climbing up our kitchen window and heard him jump onto the roof over the bay window. Chris and Sami arrived to late to see him climb up but went out to see if they could spot him running around. A few seconds later I heard a noise and caught a glimpse of the squirrel sliding down the window and take off, followed by two delighted kids. He escaped by crossing the street.
Have a great weekend all.

Seems like the squirrels, and all the critters for that matter, are really active lately. They must be scurrying around trying to get ready for winter. We took down the hummingbird feeder because we think they've all migrated by now.
How exciting! We don't have many squirrels here in Utah - but we do have woodpeckers and our crazy cat Bonnie brought one home (literally) this morning. She somehow caught a Northern Flicker, a LARGE woodpecker, and brought it into the house via her cat door. She came downstairs with it, and showed it to Brandon who immediately made her let go of it. The bird wasn't dead - or even injured - so it aimed for an escape via any window it could find. After chasing it around and wincing as it crashed into window after window, Brandon was finally able to net it and release it outside. WHEW!
